Overview

Bath is known for its natural hot springs -- the Roman Baths, its abundance of architecture, such as Bath Abbey and the Royal Crescent, and its array of shops and restaurants.

The Bird is an "impressive" (The Independent) boutique hotel with 31 individually designed rooms, less than 10 minutes' walk from the River Avon and the city centre.

You can expect chandeliers, pink walls, vibrants patterns and even "artfully poised taxidermy", while Deluxe King with Abbey View rooms have "stupendous views" of the cathedral and beyond, according to The Independent.

Breakfast includes a continental buffet with hot, cooked-to-order options. Dinner is served at The Bird's sister property, No.15 Great Pulteney, which is less than five minutes' walk away.

The Nook is a decked, outdoor space where you can relax on a bean bag or in a chair under a Balinese parasol. It's open Friday-Sunday, has views of the city, and serves light bites, pizzas and cocktails. The garden is south-facing and open until 29 September.

We had a lovely comfortable room with views of The Recreation Ground and Bath Abbey. Breakfast was excellent and served in a very individually styled room. We took our two evening meals at No. 15, their sister hotel, a short stroll away and was not disappointed. Another very individually styled hotel with good good and wine choices. Being able to park the car on sight was a definite bonus and being able to leave it there on our final day, till 2pm, much appreciated. All in all a wonderful break.

Very nice boutique hotel with lots of character and original features. Staff were excellent & extremely helpful. Breakfast lovely & fresh with great selection. Garden very quirky & relaxing. Approx 10-15 mins walk to main areas & attractions in Bath. Meal deal at sister hotel No 15 Great Pulteney was superb with Travelzoo. Enjoy your stay.

The hotel was lovely and our room was clean and very nice. Reception staff were very welcoming and helpful. Overall our experience at the hotel was very good. However the breakfast service let the hotel down together with the first night evening meal at No. 15 Great Poultney

Breakfast service was slow at The Bird and the cooked food tended to be dry and overcooked. Evening meal at the No. 15 on the first night was very poor. Overpriced starters (two scallops for £12.50!) main course of salmon was bland and my Burger turned out to be Sea Bass so one eating one waiting for correct food. Poor! Second night much better. Still overall prices were too high for the food provided.
