Moxy Chicago Downtown
Why We Love This Hotel
- A Millennial-friendly hotel in River North
- Guests receive a free cocktail at check-in to get the party started
- Rooms feature motion-sensor lighting, USB power outlets and smart TVs
Everything about the Moxy Chicago is a bit more fun than your average hotel -- guests check in at the bar, not a front desk (and you get a free drink when you do so). There are games and bean bag chairs in the lobby, DJs spin records while people record podcasts in the hotel's studio, and you can even get a taco at 3 a.m.
Guest rooms are small but made for comfort and function, with plush beds in a variety of formats for whatever kind of stay you need -- one queen, two twin, corner queen, even voyeur-friendly stays where you can pull the wall curtains back to look into other rooms next door. There are also smart TVs for streaming media, rainfall showers and fast free Wi-Fi.
The hotel's Instagram-friendly bar is basically the entire lobby and features windows that open up onto the street in warmer weather. The hotel's Zombie Taco window operates 24/7 and serves unconventional bites like jalapeno bacon tacos and Zombie burritos with both pork carnitas and bbq chicken.
