Overview

Chicheley Hall is an English country house built in the 18th century in the Baroque style. It was bought by the Royal Society and now also serves as the Kavli Royal Society International Centre, a facility dedicated to the advancement of science.

The property has original period features, ornate chandeliers, grand staircases and a great hall that was used in the filming of "Pride and Prejudice".

The restaurant serves classic British and European dishes. Afternoon tea can be served in the garden (weather permitting).

Milton Keynes is less than 10 minutes away by car. This famous new town turned 50 in 2017 -- you can visit its plethora of restaurants and bars, or search for the Concrete Cows, iconic sculptures created by Canadian artist Liz Leyh.

Woburn Safari Park, a wildlife park with over 1000 animals including elephants, tigers and black bears, is approximately 15 minutes' drive away.

Grounds and the house were beautiful. Afternoon tea in the main entrance hall was lovely but the ambience of the room was a little church hall like and echoed. Small recommendation but some tall green leafy plants in the corners and maybe a few more paintings on the walls would probably solve this. The rest of the house was stunning, evening meal and breakfast in a lovely room. We loved our stay. Thank you

Staff and building were lovely

Size of room.Do not take a cat as you cannot swing it. Tiny shower room that has a toilet facing the door which has my knees 12 inches from it so feeling squashed. Radiator was stuck on all night leaving wife feeling unwell. After various dialogue the next morning the handyman isolated the radiator. Food is a basic menu which had haddock and chips for which you pay a £3.50 supplement
