Decorated by the prestigious interior designer Tomás Alía, Riad Elisa is a traditional riad (a Moroccan house with an interior courtyard) in Marrakesh's Medina, which is known for its maze of souks (markets) and red sandstone buildings.
It's a 5-minute walk to the city's main square, Djemaa el-Fna, where you'll find "a whole carnival of storytellers, acrobats, musicians and entertainers", according to Rough Guides. The Koutoubia Mosque -- the city's largest mosque -- is less than 10 minutes' walk from the hotel.
Facilities at the hotel include a spa with vaulted ceilings and a traditional Moroccan hammam (steam room). A path of candles leads to the exclusive treatment rooms with a range of pampering spa therapies available (fees apply).
Breakfast is served in the Max Restaurant where guests can choose from a French, English or a typical Moroccan breakfast, or a blend of them all. At lunchtime, a combination of Spanish and Moroccan gastronomy is on offer, or you can relax on the hotel's Rooftop Terrace Bar while sipping a cocktail.
This boutique hotel has just 14 suites, overlooking the Riad’s main patio. All of them are decorated with traditional Moroccan interiors and equipped with LCD satellite televisions, air conditioning, bathrooms with both showers and bathtubs and bathroom products made with natural ingredients from Marrakesh. There's also free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel.
