Overview

In the heart of downtown Reno, Whitney Peak is the city’s first nongaming, nonsmoking hotel. The boutique property is located next to the Reno Arch and surrounded by casinos and nightlife. It's also within a five-minute walk of the Reno Events Center.

Public spaces and guest rooms are outfitted in clean, minimalist design with a retro vibe and playful pops of color in the form of turquoise velvet couches, orange bouquets and neon artwork. Accommodations are furnished with one king or two queen beds, flat-screen TVs, seating areas and desks. Suites feature king bedrooms, separate living rooms, kitchenettes, wet bars and panoramic views of the Sierra Nevada Mountains.

Upgrading to the Club Lounge adds perks like complimentary breakfast and evening cocktails served in a private lounge. All lodgings include Keurig coffeemakers, minifridges and free Wi-Fi. For a nonrefundable nightly fee, furry family members can come along and are welcomed with treats and toys upon check-in.

All guests have complimentary access to the 24-hour fitness center and can reserve discounted yoga classes or scale the world’s tallest outdoor climbing wall. Cargo Concert Hall, located on the first floor, hosts local and international artists and up to 1000 audience members. Roundabout Grill offers a contemporary take on American comfort food served in a chic setting for breakfast, lunch, dinner and weekend brunch.

all the services provided for us, the refillable water stations, security measures to get to the rooms to name a few.

I was refreshing to have a big hotel with no smoke, no casino noises, so many services offered and the staff made you feel so welcome.

We were too busy & did not stay long enough to take advantage of the super cool climbing gym or wall, next time we will have to make the time....

The place was tastefully furnished and decorated. Amenities were good. Great location. Would definitely try the restaurant next time I’m in Reno.
Other Comments
It would have been perfect except for the noise and self parking. The heating unit goes off extremely loud. You could hear people outside the hall. I stayed on the top floor and you could still hear people outside the building. The parking garage is across the street and felt unsafe. No signs to direct you to the elevator or hotel. Complimentary valet should have been offered.

Nice room, good location.

After driving 5+hours from San Jose, CA to Reno, we arrive at the hotel only to be told the "system is down" and we can't get checked-in. They didn't know when the system would be back up either. That has never happened at any hotel we've ever been to !

Quiet given the central location, comfortable beds, nice room amenities.

Staff were helpful, rooms very comfortable with a nice ambiance.

Overall, a very nice, hip hotel. The non-smoking, non-casino ambiance is was welcomed relative to the craziness of the casino hotels.
Other Comments
We blocked six rooms for a wedding party. At least a couple of the rooms didn't have functioning heat while one room was too hot. The North facing side of the hotel is noisy due to nearby train tracks. Some excessive noise from people in the hallway one night (not hotel's fault).

The room was super clean, pretty and the bed was really comfortable - the best sleep we have ever had in a hotel!
Other Comments
The only thing we didn't like is the location right in the midst of all the casinos - icky area. Once you are inside the hotel, though, it transports you to a calm and relaxing, well appointed hotel.
