Hotel Plaza Venice is a 4-star property in Mestre, the mainland part of Venice. It is across the road from Venezia Mestre train station and bus stop, both of which have regular services into central Venice, taking around 10 minutes.
Must-see attractions in the historic centre include St Mark's Square, where you'll find St Mark's Basilica, and the Rialto Bridge, which stretches over the Grand Canal.
The hotel is also conveniently placed for those wishing to explore other nearby Italian cities such as Padua, Vicenza and Treviso, which are all less than 35 minutes' away by train.
Verona -- best known as the romantic setting for Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet" -- is around an hour's train journey from the hotel. "One of northern Italy's most attractive cities", according to Lonely Planet, it's home to a medieval old town and a 1st-century Roman amphitheatre.
The Soul Kitchen restaurant is open daily for lunch and dinner, serving authentic home-cooked Italian food using locally sourced ingredients. There is also a bar and café for light snacks and drinks throughout the day.
Superior Rooms are more spacious than Classic Rooms. Wi-Fi is free.
