Why We Love This Hotel

  • This characterful country inn is 15 minutes' drive from the Cotswolds
  • You can sit by the cosy fireplace in the oak-beamed bar and sample the real ales on tap
  • Blenheim Palace is 20 minutes' drive away and Warwick Castle is 40 minutes by car

The Deddington Arms Hotel is a 16th-century country inn set off a market square in the quaint village of Deddington, 15 minutes' drive from the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Deddington has a monthly farmer's market and the ruins of a Norman castle, which is five minutes' walk from the hotel. Banbury, a lively market town associated with the nursery rhyme "Ride a Cock Horse", and Broughton Castle -- a moated, fortified manor with ornamental gardens -- are both less than 15 minutes' drive away.

You can also explore Blenheim Palace or Chipping Norton, a quiet Cotswolds market town with "handsome" Georgian buildings (Lonely Planet). Silverstone Circuit is 30 minutes' drive away, while Warwick Castle and Oxford city centre are both 40 minutes by car.

The hotel has a traditional oak-beamed bar and restaurant, featuring slate floors and a log fire. Some bedrooms have views across the market square. Rooms are split between the main building and an extension at the rear of the property.

Food was very good. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. The receptionist was very knowledgable about the local area and the best places to eat.

We could not fault the restaurant and the food. Dinner and breakfast were amazing. Sadly the rooms were a let down, they were old tired and not very clean, such a shame because the rest of our experience was brilliant. If the rooms reflected the restaurant we would definitely stay again.
Other Comments
Georgia the receptionist was lovely and very helpful and an asset to the company.

Plenty of parking, nice village, friendly and super helpful staff. Very tasty food, both the breakfast and the evening meals. The main downside and why we would not go back are, the room needed decorating and badly needed a good cleaning throughout. Shower head and the hair dryer were broken.

The breakfast and evening meals were very good.

The room was a bit tired looking and could have done with being freshened up a bit.

Lovely staff & food. Room was a bit dated, but functional. No shower gel. Floor really warm (near boiler room?!)

The nearby church bells ring on the hour, every hour.

The room and bathroom were very spaciious. The food was exce!!ant in quality and extremely well cooked. So if we were in the area again, we would eat there even though we would not stay. The restaurant was pleasant and nicely decorated.
Other Comments
The condition of the room was extremely tired and not very clean. It is seriously in need of a deep clean and redecoration. There was a sofa that was so worn we could not sit on it. We had one glass and two tea bags. There were no hand towels. No one made the bed, the just seemed to think emptying the bins was all that was required.

Our stay was quite enjoyable but the restaurant service on the first night was abysmal. The staff were very friendly.
Other Comments
On the first night we had to wait for over an hour for the first courses to be served. Also when we arrived there was only one hand towel in the bathroom, the receptionsit told us that bath towels would be delivered later. on our return in the evening stillno towels, we had to go to the bar and ask for them, they were than brought up to us. On returning to our room on Monday evening it had not been touched, the waste bin had not been emptied, the teas had not been replaced, the bed had not been made, or the towels renewed. On the first night although we were getting £25 discount we had to wait over an hour for our main courses.
