Waterfront Santa Apolónia, one of Lisbon's most up-and-coming areas, provides the setting for Hello Lisbon Santa Apolónia Apartments'modern studios and 1-bedroom units. They are housed in a restored building with a blue-painted façade set on a steep cobbled street overlooking the Tagus River. It's within a 10-minute walk of both Campo de Santa Clara, known for its regular flea markets, and the historic Alfama district, where highlights include the Museu do Fado, dedicated to the traditional Portuguese song. The hilltop fortress Castelo de São Jorge, which has the best views in the city, is just a little further away -- about 20 minutes on foot.
Museu Nacional do Azulejo, with its exhibits of ceramic tiles, is 15 minutes' walk away along the coast, and Rossio Square, in the heart of Lisbon, and Bairro Alto, packed with buzzing bars and cafés, are about 10-15 minutes away by Metro from Santa Apolónia station.
The elegant façade of the Hello Lisbon Santa Apolónia Apartments opens to a monochrome lobby area with sofas and a wall-mounted map of Lisbon. Sleeping up to five people, the contemporary studios and apartments continue this simple design ethos, with bright, minimalist décor in black and white. Each has a kitchen, a dining space and a living area with a TV, as well as free Wi-Fi. Higher-tariff studios add river views, while the 1-bedroom apartments come with a mezzanine bedroom and a sofabed. Free communal laundry facilities are also available.
