Formerly a convent for Dominican monks that dates back to the 18th century, Hotel Forum is now recognised for its elegant and classic façade -- "with cinematic views of ancient Rome across the avenue so impressive that it's drawn celebrities and socialites, like Jackie Kennedy, Elizabeth Taylor, and Brigitte Bardot" (Fodor's).

The 4-star property is in Rome's historic district, within walking distance of some of the city's best-loved sights. The Colosseum is less than 10 minutes' walk away, while the Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps are both less than 20 minutes' walk away.

Breakfast is served at the hotel's Roof Garden restaurant, with panoramic views of the Forum of Nerva and the Temple of Augustus. The restaurant is also open for lunch (daily) and dinner (Monday-Saturday) and serves both Italian and international cuisine.

Rooms are decorated in a refined, classic style, and some face the Roman Forum. The recently renovated Superior Rooms New Style are more spacious than Classic Rooms and feature Queen-sized beds and marble bathrooms. Wi-Fi is free.

The hotel was in a fantastic location. The room was lovely (207) on the front of the hotel and overlooking some ruins. The staff were all very helpful and the breakfast was great sat on the roof terrace.

Location. Just perfect. Room overlooked the Forum and you can see the Colosseum from the rooftop bar
Other Comments
Great hotel, friendly staff - location about as good as you could possibly get. overlooking the Forum, less than 5 min walk to the colosseum and colosseum Metro which makes getting around (particularly to the Vatican) very easy.
