It was advertised as a good opportunity and good value. However, later on I found out that the same room can be booked for 50% cheaper (Expedia.ca). So, much for trusting the recommendation. Hotel was practically empty during our stay. During the checked out, some of other rooms were open and I found out that they were slightly open. What was the reason that we were given the smallest room? No table where we would be able to work, place laptop... Hot water in a tub was limited to certain temperature. Bath was really not able to use except if you don't like your bath hot. Some installation were not completed in room. Naked wires from the wall. Credit vouchers for dinner - if not very cold (below -20) and if there were more restaurants nearby I doubt that anyone would chose to eat at Burleigh Falls Inn. First night we were one of 3 tables, the second one alone. It took about 10 minutes to process card payment. For some reasons you can't put it on your room. Two separate business when comes to payments but not when advertised. Total dispaoinement of Travelzoo recommendation and The Burleigh Falls Inn.

Yes, the location is lovely and I am sure even more so in the summer. The staff were very accommodating

The staff were very pleasant and extremely accommodating. However, we experienced a thumping noise all evening, and when we asked what it was we were told it was the dishwasher. There was also a corporate event taking place and of course loud music.Had we been advised of this we would have opted to stay with our original booking of a cabin .It would been a lot quieter and the option of the room having a fireplace was no compensation for the noise until 11:00pm. I understand the inn has recently changed ownership but there is a lot to be done to bring it up to a good standard. The food in the restaurant for dinner was mediocre at best and in my opinion overpriced. The good value was the Continental Breakfast

The lake was just steps from my cabin and the view is just beautiful. The cabin room are really spacious.

The staff were wonderful and made several attempts to quite a few troublesome guests (on the other side of the adjoining wall throughout the night, which I appreciated. Dinner at the restaurant was prompt to arrive, visually appealing, and so filling I couldn’t finish it. And the Travelzoo snacks basket and dinner voucher made this an amazing deal.

Consider upgrading the toilet paper, it cheapens an otherwise luxurious experience
