"If you’re after a spot of luxury, look no further than this chic Regency townhouse turned boutique hotel," says Lonely Planet. This Condé Nast Traveller-recommended hotel is nestled in the heart of the idyllic town of Chipping Campden, at the start of the Cotswolds Way National Trail.

The Regency townhouse, which sits among acres of well-kept gardens, combines history and character with contemporary touches. Elle magazine says it's the "best place to stay in the village" and Harper's Bazaar calls it a "dream designer pad".

The spa is a real highlight, set in a converted coach house in the hotel grounds. Guests get free access to the facilities, including six treatment rooms, an aromatic steam room, a hydrotherapy pool and a nail bar.

The bedrooms all feature free Wi-Fi, Bang & Olufsen entertainment centres, tea- and coffee-making facilities, solid antique dressing tables, and fluffy bathrobes. Most have views of the pretty gardens or the village's historic high street. Upgrade to a Cottage Room for more space. These are separate to the main house, located in the gardens.

The Cotswold Grill restaurant is open every day for breakfast, lunch, dinner and afternoon tea. The menu features locally sourced produce, with classics such as ham hock, Gressingham duck and apple pie. In warmer months, the Pavilion Terrace in the hotel garden is a pleasant place to enjoy a coffee or lunch.
