The Mercure Rome Centro Colosseo is just a stone's throw from the Colosseum, ancient Rome's 2000-year-old gladiatorial amphitheatre. Its central location, plus its proximity to the Colosseo metro station, makes it a good base from which to visit many of Rome's sights and attractions. Rome Termini railway station, which has links with cities throughout Italy, plus international services to destinations including Paris, Munich and Geneva, is just over 20 minutes' walk, or around 10 minutes' drive from the hotel.
The St John Lateran Basilica is just over 10 minutes' walk away, while the ruined temples and ancient streets of the Roman Forum are around 15 minutes' walk from the hotel. For world-class shopping, head to the area around the iconic Spanish Steps (a 2.5-kilometre walk, or around 15 minutes away by Metro) where there are well-known high street names and chic designer boutiques.
During the summer months (May to September) you can relax and unwind by the hotel's rooftop pool, which has a terrace with views of the Colosseum. The poolside bar is an ideal spot for a cocktail or an ice-cold beer at the end of a busy day taking in the sights. There's also a lounge bar that's open year round and serves a selection of drinks and light bites.
The 161 air-conditioned rooms have free Wi-Fi, contemporary décor and crisp white bed linen. Higher-category Superior Double Rooms have views of the Colosseum.
