On a bustling corner overlooking Ibiza Town’s leafy main square, the chic, adult-only Gran Hotel Montesol -- the first hotel to be established on the island -- is set in a restored 1933 building with an ornate, white-and-yellow facade. It’s ideally placed for exploring the city, within a 10-minute stroll of both the lively port and Dalt Vila’s winding cobbled streets and cafés. Cala Comte beach is around a 30-minute drive away.
The hotel’s striking, historic exterior gives way to stylish, contemporary-design public spaces finished with sleek dark wood and plush furnishings. The gold-topped lobby bar is lined with black-and-white prints and offers a range of cocktails. Guests can enjoy Mediterranean dishes and tapas bites in the trendy café, which features bold lighting and colourful painted tiles, and opens to three outdoor terraces.
Parquet floors, monogrammed linen and marble bathrooms with walk-in showers give the 33 rooms a smart, high-end feel. All offer free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs and mini bars, as well as espresso machines. Upgraded rooms feature floor-to-ceiling windows and balconies with views of the marina or the Old Town, while suites include separate living rooms.
