Extremely late check in and very early check out were a bit disturbing. The restaurant and room were good.

The resort was conveniently located. The staff was friendly, professional and efficient. The accommodations were very comfortable and accessible. The onsite restaurant was less than stellar, buffet only, no other options. There are several other options in town though.

If not staying inside Capitol Reef, this is the closest accommodation. The view is AMAZING.

This resort has a prime location just a five-minute drive from Capitol Reef National Park. The scenic beauty outside our sliding door was picturesque. It was like waking up in a fairytale. We went hiking on a couple of the days and there are trails for all varieties of skill levels. My daughter did a trail ride on a horse and had a fun time. I would recommend driving into Fruita, UT and picnicking in that area, as well as visiting the historic Gifford House. They have fresh-baked pies and other local goods and souvenirs.

The rooms at the resort are extremely average. Some of our cupboards had handles missing and the sliding door didn't have a screen -- so we couldn't leave the door open to let the fresh air in while we were in the room. I would recommend one of the other accommodation options on-site (and those are what I would book next time I stay) like a cabin, a tee-pee or a covered wagon. Those are newer and seem to be much more upscale. There is only one on-site dining option and everything else is in the town of Torrey which is a bit of a drive and many of the restaurant options are pricey for what you get. We opted to buy some groceries at the store in town and use those for breakfasts.

Great deal for the price but I would never pay their regular rates.

We had a wonderful weekend at Capitol Reef Resort. The location is amazing. We stayed in a king suite with patio & it was wonderful to sit on the patio with a coffee in the morning watching the sun come up on the right while the moon was still visible on the left. The room has a separate bedroom & a living area with a double sofa bed. There is a sink, microwave & decent sized mini fridge in the living room & a Keurig coffee machine. The bathroom had a Jacuzzi tub & nice high end products. Breakfast onsite is $10 & is a buffet. Dinner was reasonable & you can bring your own wine for a $10 corkage fee. We also did the horse riding that is onsite & that was a lot of fun.

Rooms are average for a motel, not sure I would call it a resort. However location, location, location. Our room had a fantastic view and was close to the park. The town of Torrey was 10 minutes away with other choices of local restaurants.

The stay in the covered wagon was so much fun and more than we ever expected. The private bathrooms were clean and well appointed.
