Providing a relaxing stay in modern quarters, the Prazer da Natureza Resort & Spa occupies a secluded spot off a country road in quaint Vilar de Mouros, northern Portugal. Both Caminha town centre, with its Gothic architecture and lively restaurants, and the picturesque beach at Moledo do Minho are within a 15-minute drive. The cities of Braga, home to Roman ruins and a 12th-century cathedral, and Porto, with its wealth of historic buildings, are both around an hour’s drive from the resort.
Manicured gardens lined with fruit trees lead to the Prazer da Natureza Resort & Spa outdoor pool, and there’s a tennis court, squash facilities and a fitness room, as well as a spa featuring a glass-sided indoor pool, a sauna and a Turkish bath. Guests can dine on Portuguese cuisine in the smart restaurant, which has floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the grounds, and sip drinks on colourful cubed seating in the trendy bar.
Housed in contemporary-design buildings dotted along winding pathways, the resort accommodation includes rooms, apartments and standalone villas. All offer free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs, fridges and sitting areas with sofa beds, as well as wooden floors and balconies or terraces. Some villas and apartments add kitchenettes and/or loft bedrooms. Units sleep up to four people.
