The Ferienart Resort & Spa is a 5-star chalet-style lodging in Saas-Fee, in Switzerland's southern canton of Valais, where landscapes "leave you dumbstruck", says Lonely Planet.
Saas-Fee, 1800 metres above sea level, is "a safe bet for good snow conditions", says the Ski Club of Great Britain. There is a gondola lift, for access to a wide range of pistes up to 3600 metres. There's also the Mittelallalin Ice Pavilion, a grotto deep within the Fee Glacier, accessed by a 70-metre tunnel. Inside, there are ice sculptures, regular exhibitions and a 360-degree revolving restaurant.
Clad in pine, with large open fires and cosy furnishings, the hotel offers 71 rooms, suites and family apartments, with free Wi-Fi throughout. The Paradia Spa features six thermal pools and a wide range of treatments. There is also a restaurant serving fondue and other Swiss dishes, plus an à la carte eatery and a pizzeria.
