In the Staffordshire countryside between Lichfield and Burton upon Trent, Wychnor Park Country Club is a family-friendly resort set around an 18th-century manor house.
The resort is a 20-minute drive from the historic city of Lichfield with its three-spired medieval cathedral and museum that celebrates the life of local literary figure, Dr Johnson. Barton Marina, a canal-side attraction lined with shops and restaurants, is a 15-minute drive away. Warwick Castle and Stratford-upon-Avon can both be reached in around an hour.
The 55-acre estate encompasses a manor house with a Grade II-listed great hall and a leisure centre with an indoor heated pool, a sauna, a steam room and a gym. The landscaped grounds are home to a 9-hole golf course, a tennis court, a bowling green and a croquet court (additional fees apply). Dine on classic British dishes at the restaurant (open daily for dinner and lunch on Sunday) and enjoy evening entertainment in the bar. Both are located in the historic main house.
The apartments are split between the main house and a series of outbuildings and lodges, and accommodate between two and six people in Studios and 1- and 2-bedroom units. All feature full kitchens with an oven, a hob, a fridge, a kettle and a dishwasher. Wi-Fi is available free of charge. Freeview TVs come as standard and some apartments have a patio. The property can provide a breakfast pack with ingredients to cook a full English breakfast in your own kitchen (charges will apply).
