Anyone can feel regal at the Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas. Just like a fairy tale castle, the all-white building is topped with multiple red-domed minarets and pointed turrets, with shades of coral and pink in interior common areas.
The hotel forms a U-shape with two main hotel pools facing out toward the ocean. Although the hotel is on the beach, many of the beaches in this area are not advisable for swimming due to strong currents and undertows, so your best bet is to stay poolside, relaxing on a lounger or splashing with your little one in the children’s pools.
Out of the water, there’s an active kids club where crafts, sports and games keep the energy level high. All ages entertainment includes the on-site theater with nightly entertainment. The resort also houses a luxury spa, where guests can pamper themselves with a signature mango and passion fruit wrap or deep tissue massage.
Meals at this all-inclusive are mostly buffet style and intended to fulfil a variety of tourist tastes. Choose familiar American favorites like pizza and pasta or try the Japanese and steakhouse options.
The resort is a bit removed from the hustle and bustle Cabo San Lucas is known for. This is a plus if you’re looking to avoid the typical alcohol-fueled revelry that can happen at nighttime. If you’re looking to check out the main part of town, it is easy to catch a taxi from the hotel.
