Riad Dar El Grably
Why We Love This Hotel
- This traditional riad has only 7 rooms & is a short walk from the souks & other attractions
- There's a Jacuzzi on the rooftop terrace, which has views of the Atlas Mountains, & a courtyard swimming pool
- Wi-Fi is free
A traditional riad 15 minutes' walk from the chaos of the souks, El Grably is a well located retreat for Marrakesh visitors. It's 10 minutes from Djemaa el Fna square, Bahia Palace, Dar Si Said and the Tiskiwin museum. The Jewish spice market area is also a short walk away (and should be quieter than the better known souks).
There's a terrace, Jacuzzi and Atlas Mountain views on the roof, and guests can request breakfast there. There's also a small swimming pool, and a hammam (massages are available for an extra charge). The restaurant serves a 3-course dinner in the evening, on request -- make sure you order this in the morning so that there's time for the chef to visit the market.
As there are only seven rooms to look after, the riad's staff have plenty of time to offer suggestions about what to see and to organise taxis or excursions further afield. Cookery classes are available on site.
The bedrooms are simple and vary in size, but all have a shower, free Wi-Fi (although the signal can be patchy) and air conditioning. Upgrade to the Bab Irlhy room for a private terrace and an adjoining room for a third guest on a pullout sofa.
