Regent's Park -- "one of London's finest parks" (Rough Guides), and originally one of Henry VIII's hunting grounds -- is five minutes' walk away. The park is home to ZSL London Zoo (a 20-minute walk from the hotel or 10 minutes by 274 bus), a boating lake and formal gardens.

Lord's Cricket Ground is two minutes' walk from the hotel, and getting to the leafy streets of Marylebone (home to upscale restaurants, cafés and boutiques) takes 20 minutes on foot. The number 13 bus stops two minutes away from the hotel and will take you to Oxford Street in around 15 minutes, and to Theatreland in about 25.

The WIfi was very poor, with a weak signal in the foyer and very difficult system. The heated towel rail in the room didn't work - we asked for it to be repaired while we were out, but still it didn't work when we returned. After another request, no response. After I asked for the duty manager, she refused to attend. A plumber eventually arrived, but could not fix the rail. The duty manager then offered to move us, but we were ready for bed. The TV reception was poor. We watched the Festival of Remembrance, and during the programme, must have had to reprogramme the TV 30 times. However, a good location, and good breakfast. If they had free Wifi and good TV reception, we would go next year (I am a veteran who was on parade at the Cenotaph)

Zero customer service. Hotel was baking hot. Rooms advertised weren’t those that we stayed in - falling apart! Our curtain fell off the rail. Breakfast wasn’t cooked.
