Overview
Milan is described as "elegant, chaotic, and utterly beguiling" by Frommer's. If you want a relaxing base from which to explore this city, then the 4-star Hub Hotel, which features a swimming pool and spa, is a great option.
The Hub Hotel, northwest of Milan's city centre, is five minutes by the hotel’s shuttle service from Milano Certosa railway station and Uruguay Metro stop. From either, the journey to the centre takes around 15 minutes. The shuttle service is a free service.
Frommer's describes the architecture in Milan as "majestic", and Northern Italian cuisine as "warming" -- both are in abundance in the city centre. Plus, according to Time Out, "fashion is the city's biggest draw" and the city's boutiques are mainly in the quadrilatero della moda, a 15-minute train ride from Milano Certosa. This trip will cost around 2€ (£1) per person, each way.
The property is also 30-minute drive from Duomo di Milano, a magnificent Gothic cathedral that dates back to the 14th century. To get to Duomo di Milano from the hotel, you can catch a metro from the Uruguay metro stop. The Duomo is about 15 minutes from the hotel on the Metro (Uruguay stop).
The hotel has an impressive spa on the 14th floor. Within this area you'll find a swimming pool, a gym, a sauna and a steam room. From the spa area guests can take in panoramic views across Milan. Travelzoo members can access the spa for discounted rate of 8€ per person, per day.
Other facilities include a restaurant, a bar, a coffee shop and a garden lounge. Deluxe Rooms all feature marble bathrooms, a mini bar and tea- and coffee-making facilities. Wi-Fi is free throughout.
