The Ridge at Playa Grande
Why We Love This Hotel
- Spacious villas have private balconies
- Drift between sea views and a swim-up bar at the adult-only infinity pool
- A smaller-scale property means thinner crowds around the pool
- Less than a mile from Cabo San Lucas’ restaurants and bars
Tucked in amongst the coppery rock formations on a raised bluff, The Ridge Luxury Villas have great views in nearly all directions, from the marina to the sea. The resort is perched above the southern, seafront tip of Cabo San Lucas, a short distance from the impressive natural arch at Land's End.
The Mexican-style property has an intimate feel, and you won't find the crowds found at some Cabo megaresorts here. Villas come only in ample sizes, from one bedroom up to three-bedroom suites. All have a private balcony, along with a stocked kitchen and huge, granite-framed bathrooms.
There are several pools, including an adults-only infinity pool with a swim-up bar, waterslide and Jacuzzis. The Ridge Restaurant serves Mediterranean cuisine from 7am until 6pm. Guests can also walk down the hill to the sister property Playa Grande, where dining options include Mexican spiced steak and seafood at Brigantine.
This property tends to attract more adults and couples, and is generally makes a quiet escape from the boisterous family-friendly resorts nearby. Nightclubs, restaurants and bars cluster around Cabo’s marina, which starts 10 minutes by foot from the villas. For an extra fee, a water taxi will whisk guests to the far side of the marina, where there are more upscale shops and restaurants.
