The Telegraph’s travel website praises this boutique B&B in central Bath for its “refurbished rooms, [a] lovely Georgian garden and affable owners”. Set in a townhouse dating back to 1794, the property is an attractive reminder of the golden age of Bath’s Georgian elegance.
The city itself is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, thanks in part to its beautiful array of Palladian crescents, terraces and squares. The Kennard is located on an elegant residential street, just around the corner from Pulteney Bridge and a 5-minute walk from the Holburne Museum. It’s also an easy 6-minute stroll to the Bath Pavilion, the famous Roman Baths and Bath Abbey. Further afield are historic gems Lacock Abbey and Castle Combe – both 30 minutes by car.
Breakfast is included in the rate and served in a colourful, high-ceilinged room. Comprising a buffet as well as a full English, ingredients are sourced from local farms. Perhaps the piece de resistance is the Georgian garden at the back, filled with neatly trimmed hedges.
All rooms are uniquely decorated, boasting plenty of English charm. Singles have in-room basins, while double have en-suite bathrooms. All feature flat-screen TVs and free Wi-Fi. Children over 8 are welcome, and complimentary parking permits are available.
