The Cedar Court Hotel is 10 minutes' walk from the centre of Harrogate -- the "quintessential Victorian spa town", according to Lonely Planet.

This Grade II-listed 19th-century building sits on the site of Harrogate's first hotel, the Queen's Head Inn, which was built in the 1680s. The Turkish Baths & Health Spa is 15 minutes' walk away, and the Royal Hall, which hosts antique fairs, classical orchestra shows, live comedy events and more, is just a little further. En route you'll pass the famous Bettys tea room.

Ripley and Knaresborough castles are just over 10 minutes away by car, and Harewood House takes around 15 minutes. Mother Shipton's Cave and the Petrifying Well -- one of England's oldest tourist attractions -- is 10 minutes' drive away. You can also trek with llamas at Nidderdale Llamas in the Yorkshire Dales, or visit Brimham Rocks, both of which take 25-30 minutes. Pateley Bridge, a small market town on banks of the River Nidd that's home to the oldest sweet shop in England, is 30 minutes' drive.

The hotel brasserie serves British and international cuisine, and has a selection of local Yorkshire cheeses. There is an on-site gym, and all guest rooms have free Wi-Fi.

Under staffed restaurant service. Owing to large pre booked party the hotel could not fit us in to the evening dinner service. We were refunded £44 and revcieved a bottle of wine our inconvenience. Breakfast too was poorly serviced and there were lots of uncleared tables along with a poorly replenished buffet.

What an great place to plan a visit to Harrogate, fantastic position, with wonderful views over the park, yet 5 mins walk to the centre of Harrogate, without having to drive the one way system. Has my vote every time.

The only thing that let the vjsit down was having to walk through a group of people smoking and blocking the main entrance to the hotel ( there was a wedding party) I feel a more suitable smoking area should be designated, as an asthma suffere this was not a comfortable experience.
