Overview

Just steps away from the streetcars and a block from Bourbon Street, the Wyndham French Quarter is a great place from which to launch a full-scale exploration of New Orleans. In just minutes, guests can be wandering the Garden District or have a hurricane drink in hand on Rue Bourbon.

Rooms at the Wyndham are reasonably sized, starting at 300 square feet, and feature plush bedding, flat-panel TVs and in-room coffeemakers. There are plenty of perks to keep you comfortable during your stay, including free Wi-Fi, an on-site fitness center and complimentary bottled water (much needed in the Louisiana climate). Most rooms have recently been refreshed with new paint and upgraded bathroom amenities.

The nearby streetcars can take guests all throughout the city for just $1.25 a ride; one-day and three-day passes are also available. Hop on and take a ride along St. Charles Avenue past the historic homes of the Garden District, head south to upscale shopping at the Riverwalk, or north along historic Canal Street.

The hotel has the only heated indoor pool in the French Quarter, and the on-site Ole Saint Kitchen & Tap features Southern specialties and more than 50 different beers on draft, including many Mississippi and Louisiana craft brews.

The room I was in had an issue with the A/C unit. The morning I checked it, it started blowing warm air instead of cool.

Very good location for just about anything that we wanted to do in the French Quarter or around.
Other Comments
It seemed the room doors were VERY thin, as we could hear everything in the hallway going on, even people walking.

It was in the French Quarter.

It was so busy when we got there and we had to valet the car with no one to help get our items out. I got what I could but had to go back to where they parked my car to retrieve the rest. My wife got sick and the only place that had any non-spicy noodles was from the drug store next door - a cup of noodles. When we went to the restuarant associated with the hotel and I had ordered - they kicked my wife out saying she couldn't bring food in from outside. She ate her cup of noodles in the room and I ate alone. It was not a pleasant experience and the people were not accommodating.

The convenience.
Other Comments
The only downside was the surprise of the $40.00 per day charge to park my car. You should make people aware of this substantial charge. It is a part of the cost of the stay. By hiding it you only make your customer try another hotel booker in the future. One with total disclosure.
