Jacksonville’s downtown is the city’s cultural core, and a stay at the Omni Jacksonville Hotel means you’ll be right in the heart of it. Just across the street from the hotel entrance, you can listen to the soothing sounds of the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra in the Times-Union Center for the Performing Arts. Institutions like the Museum of Contemporary Art and the Museum of Science and History are also within a 10-minute walk of the hotel.
Stroll along the Riverwalk, just a few minutes' walk from the hotel. Along the way, stop at the Landing, a open-air mall with boutiques and eateries. If your main agenda in Jacksonville is sports-related, EverBank Field, home of the Jacksonville Jaguars, is just an eight-minute drive east.
The hotel completed renovations in 2015, and the lobby is understated and elegant with polished marble floors and warm wood pillars and walls. Common areas and rooms carry the same cool grey and beige tones, just right for winding down after a day of sightseeing or screaming for your favorite team. If you’re lucky enough to have a higher floor, expect sweeping city views.
If you have cabin fever, grab a drink and take it all in at the fourth-floor pool deck. Then, try some regionally inspired Southern fare at on-site local favorite Juliette’s, a mainstay for nearly three decades.
