Heartlands, a free cultural centre within UNESCO's Cornwall & West Devon Mining Landscape World-Heritage Site, is approximately 10 minutes' drive away. It has 19 acres to explore, with exhibitions, sensory gardens and a giant adventure playground.

The National Trust's Godrevy Beach is around 25 minutes' drive away. This sandy beach with high cliffs and dramatic coves is great for walkers. You may spot basking sharks, dolphins, porpoises and the large grey seal colony.

Pendennis Castle, an artillery fort constructed by Henry VIII between 1540 and 1542, is 40 minutes' drive.

The hotel's restaurant uses local seafood and meat cooked in the signature wood-charcoal oven, Bertha. The restaurant's décor is ornate, with antique frames, art collections, a grandfather clock and opulent dark walls.

Other Comments
The staff were all amazing, majority of them were faultless (restaurant managers were a little over zealous with their staff at times I felt, as customers we don't need to see that feedback going on in the restaurant)!
