According to Lonely Planet, Oslo is home to “a thriving cafe and bar culture, top-notch restaurants” and “museums and galleries rivalling anywhere else on the European art trail”. With that in mind, it’s definitely worth choosing a hotel at the heart of the city, and visitors who stay at The Park Inn by Radisson will have everything the city has to offer at their finger tips
Rough Guides describes central Oslo as “surprisingly compact” and The Park Inn by Radisson is within walking distance of many of the most popular attractions. Karl Johans Gate (Oslo’s main street), the Akershus Fortress, the harbour, The Oslo Opera House, the Nobel Peace Center and the Royal Palace are all within a 15-minute walk of the hotel. Only slightly further away -- a 7-minute walk to the harbour followed by a 15-minute ferry trip -- is Bygdøy peninsula, home to the Viking Ship Museum, the Norwegian Folk Museum and the Norwegian Maritime Museum.
Lunch and evening meals aren’t available at the hotel, but there’s a daily breakfast buffet, which is included in the price. The Park Inn by Radisson’s RBG Bar serves a range of beer, wine and cocktails, although it’s closed on Sundays. Guests can also get tea and coffee in the hotel lobby.
The 118 rooms are simply furnished -- all have free WiFi, satellite TV and tea and coffee-making facilities. Superior Rooms also have free pay-television, king-sized beds and upgraded bathroom products. Rooms on the top floor have large balconies.
