Overview
If you need a place to catch some z's, the Hilton Garden Inn Liberia Airport is the place. A modest but modern five-story building across the street from the runways, it comes with all the reliable comforts you would expect from the Hilton name, plus more than you would expect from an airport hotel. The price is affordable, the rooms are clean, the Wi-Fi is free and there's an outdoor pool that almost feels like a vacation rather spot than a pit stop.
Rooms exceed expectations too -- sparkling clean bathrooms and Herman Miller desk chairs are more than adequate for the night. The highlight, though, are the comfy adjustable beds that feel even better after scrunching into airplane seats.
The location is convenient to the airport (plus the shuttle is free and always on time), but still relatively quiet. Other than the airport, there is not much else around, and it's a 20-minute drive into the city. Since you're likely running on limited time and stranded without a car, there's a 24-hour fitness center and a restaurant and bar on site, and a small mall next door, making it easy to pick up forgotten items in a hurry.
