- Named after James Logan, once the mayor of Philadelphia and the Colonial secretary to William Penn
Designed to celebrate the city’s past, The Logan Philadelphia proudly displays its loyalty to the City of Brotherly Love throughout the property. From the mobile of 400 illuminated sepia photographs of famous Philadelphians like Benjamin Franklin printed on glass to the library’s steel fireplace, a tribute to the state’s manufacturing history, it's impossible to forget you're in the country's first capital..
Traditional Pennsylvania Dutch furnishings in each room are offset with modern amenities like flat-screen televisions, iPod docks, Keurig coffeemakers and stocked mini-bars with the choice of a king bed or two double beds. Accommodations face the city or courtyard through large windows filling the contemporary black and white spaces with sunlight. Spacious marble bathrooms are stocked with L’Occitane products and some rooms have balconies. Suites with separate rooms, views of the Cathedral Basilica or Swann Fountain are available. Families can reserve suites with two-bedrooms outfitted with bunk beds, games and toys for kids while business travelers may prefer pied-a-terres with formal dining rooms, private foyers and panoramic views of the city.
The local theme does not skip the kitchen. Urban Farmer sources its steakhouse menu with beef and produce sourced from Pennsylvania farms. After dinner, guests congregate in The Commons Lounge and Library which opens to an outdoor brick terrace featuring a fire pit and couches where La Colombe coffee and cocktails are served. Earlier this year, the hotel unveiled its crown jewel, Assembly Rooftop Lounge, with views stretching to the Philadelphia Art Museum from its ninth-story perch.
The spa is an indulgent release from the bustling city just outside. Adjacent to the spa, guests will find the indoor pool, a modern take on Roman baths with sleek gray marble columns and plush white lounges surrounding the glittering turquoise waters. A fitness center with new Precor equipment, weight machines and free weights can be found on the same floor.
From the downtown address, visitors are just four minutes on foot from the Franklin Institute, 15 minutes from Rittenhouse Square, and 30 minutes from both Boathouse Row and the Liberty Bell.
