The Ivy Boutique Hotel is approximately 45 minutes from O’Hare and Midway International airports in good traffic. Taxi fare is approximately $40-$50 from either airport.
With just five rooms per floor and 63 rooms in total, the IVY Boutique Hotel delivers a quiet, intimate stay in the heart of Chicago -- it really is a hidden gem. Sleek and modern, the guest rooms feature hardwood floors, floor-to-ceiling windows, dark marble countertops, Keurig coffeemakers and white leather headboards.
The King Suites are exceptionally spacious, featuring a separate living room and bedroom area. The spa-like bathrooms feature deep soaking tubs (with complimentary sea salts for a relaxing bath) and walk-in rainfall showers. There's even little luxuries in the living room like powered window curtains that open and close at the touch of a button.
Grab a drink before a night on the town or unwind with a nightcap at the lobby bar, DiVine; in-room dining is also available. Situated on a quiet section of bustling East Ontario Street, the Ivy is steps from some of Chicago’s most popular attractions, with Michigan Avenue is less than two blocks away.

The room was very, very nice. The staff & service was superb.

The only negative was that there was a cooler for drinks. When we eat out, we usually have leftovers, so a refrigerator would have been better.

I love the fact that the rooms at IVY are so spacious! This is possibly the biggest selling point for me personally. They are very modern, the beds are comfortable and the bathrooms are great as they are also very large - includes a waterfall shower and soaking tub and the water pressure is EXCELLENT! :) Their location is ideal, just off Michigan ave to be close to all things downtown.

Biggest improvement suggestion would be the bathroom lighting. It is really quite poor for ladies trying to do their makeup. Lighting around the edges of the mirror would be much more effective than the in-ceiling lights that are too small and spotlight'ish.

Only 2hard pillows. Big comfy bed. Very quiet. Very nice attentive staff. Parking was expensive. The parking fee and the $25 tax made it too expensive for us in the future. Otherwise it was great!

We ordered breakfast room service. It was not worth the money so I would not order again. However, the rest of the hotel was good value for the money.

Workout facility was 10 min walk, in the snow. Room was hot on one side, cold on other side. Staff gave wrong info multiple times.

Quite possibly the only issue was the bed -- platform bed (no box spring), so it's quite low to the ground and we're not as flexible as we used to be. The mattress was too soft, almost felt like an older mattress with lots of wear but it was definitely a newer mattress. Very comfortable sheets, pillows, and duvet. The furniture in the living room area was leather but also quite low to the ground. This could present an issue for older guests.

The Ivy expects you to sleep on a pillow "sham" ... in my experience, this is usually removed to reveal a pillow "case". If you prefer the softness of a pillow case, bring your own.

The room was gorgeous! The decor was very modern, chic & romantic. The bathroom was exceptional (double sinks, soak tub and rainfall shower). Very spacious for a hotel room in Chicago! Was pleasantly surprised.

I loved staying at the Ivy! This quaint, chic boutique hotel is about a block from the Magnificent Mile! Loved the hotel's frangrance in the air and the hotel was beautifully decorated in Christamas decor to match the hotels hues of gray, purple and silver. While the staff was friendly and accommodating...the bar service needs improving. The bar didn't open until 4 p.m. and on a Saturday & Sunday there was no "real bartender". The guy manning the bar was nice but he couldn't make any of the hotel's overpriced signature cocktails on the menu. It wasn't his fault someone didn't show up for work, so we decided to head down the street for cocktails instead. Also, they DO NOT offer courteous late check out (usually 12 pm.) Check out is a firm 11 a.m. or 3 p.m. for an extra $50. I passed on that and had them hold our bags until it was time for us to leave. Other than those minor snags, I enjoyed my stay and plan on staying here the next time we visit Chicago!
