Step into the lobby of the Omni Parker House Hotel, and you are instantly immersed in history. The longest continuously operating hotel in the United States, the hotel has hosted every president between Ulysses S. Grant and Bill Clinton for dinners and conferences. It’s here that John F. Kennedy made his first public speech at the age of 6, later in life announced his candidacy for the U.S. Senate and even proposed to Jacqueline Bouvier. Literary legends have also held court within its walls, as Charles Dickens gave his first public reading of “A Christmas Carol” and Henry Wadsworth Longfellow drafted “Paul Revere’s Ride."

At the corner of Tremont and School streets, the hotel puts guests at the border of the financial district and Beacon Hill neighborhoods. Just a short stroll down Tremont Street leads to Boston Common, the oldest park in the country. The hotel conveniently sits on the Freedom Trail, a collection of sites along a path that pays homage to the story of the American Revolution.

Culinary innovation flourishes at the hotel -- Boston cream pie and Parker House rolls were invented at the on-site Parker’s Restaurant. Guest rooms are equipped with vintage decor and modern amenities like plush robes and triple sheeting. The hotel’s impressive fitness center is equipped with everything from a bench press to elliptical machines, and it's complimentary to guests.

The location of this hotel was perfect for our trip to Boston. We walked everywhere. And the Travelzoo deal was amazing. Boston hotels are so expensive. And to get a room at one of the iconic locations in Boston for this price was wonderful. Check-in was fast and the staff was very pleasant--all the hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The room was a little small but we since we were out and about all day, the size doesn't matter. It was perfect for our purposes. I highly recommend this deal if you are traveling to Boston.

For all those who have an issue with the cost of parking, it is expensive to park in any big city like Boston or New York City where parking is limited. But there are options. I recommend using some kind of parking locater website/app. I used and found a parking garage two blocks away (super easy walk) and got 4 days for less than 2 days at the garage the hotel uses. Also, eating at the hotel is expensive, but there are so many choices right outside the door. Unless you really feel the need to say you ate at the Park House restaurant, enjoy the options down the street. We did try the Boston Crème Pie in the Parker's Bar, because you really have to give it a try. I will say I was kind of underwhelmed. It was good, but nothing to write home about. Plenty of other pastry shops to visit.

History of the hotel which is featured at lobby & gym level. The location is good too. Rooms are ok but the decor is dated however I believe the hotel is currently ‘mock’ renovating a handful of rooms.
Other Comments
For user experience it would be good to have a ‘special requests’ or ‘comments for hotel’ box for customers to include any additional information. Rooms are ok but the decor is dated however I believe the hotel is currently ‘mock’ renovating a handful of rooms hence there was substantial noise on the floor above us so we switched rooms after the first night.
