The Ryebeck is a former Edwardian gentlemen's residence with sweeping views of Lake Windermere.

It is set in five acres of landscaped grounds, 25 minutes' walk from the village of Bowness-on-Windermere, which has shops, restaurants, tea rooms and boat trips on the lake.

The deluxe country house hotel is within a 30-minute drive of Ambleside, Wordsworth's Dove Cottage in Grasmere, Beatrix Potter's Hill Top house and Holehird Gardens, home of the Lakeland Horticultural Society. The surrounding Lake District countryside is ideal for hiking, cycling and other outdoor pursuits.

The 2-AA-Rosette Ryebeck Brasserie showcases locally sourced produce, and its head chef, Nick Edgar, was voted Cumbria Life Chef of the Year 2017 and has also previously been awarded a Michelin-star. There is a cosy lounge offering classic afternoon teas and both the restaurant and the lounge have lake views.

Enjoyed Most
The spectacular views over Windermere from the hotel gardens
Other Comments
Would suggest that somewhere you put that the spectacular views are paid for by it being quite a hike down into Bowness itself for less able travellers..
