The town of Moncton is known for its sinuous Petitcodiac River and the tidal bore -- a twice daily natural phenomenon where the tide surges, pushing river waters back upstream against the current. The Rodd hotel here is perched right on the riverbanks, overlooking the bore location and neighbouring parks that swell with onlookers. The hotel provides free Wi-Fi and continental breakfast for all guests, as well as free parking so visitors can stroll up Main Street to the local steakhouses and bars.

The hotel is on the same block as the Artisan Village, an industrial space with art galleries and studios teaching painting and ceramics classes. Champlain Place, the largest mall in the area, is just under a kilometre away. The New Brunswick Casino is about 15 minutes away by car. Witness the highest tides in the world at the famous Hopewell Rocks, a 30-minute drive from the hotel. Guests are a little over three kilometres from the University of Moncton campus, where the Acadian Museum has housed records of the descendants of early French colonialists from more than 400 years.

The hotel was located downtown which was awesome . Very clean but is showing wear a tear and could use an upgrade . The hot breakfast was amazing ...lots of choices to choose from .

I’m glad we found the deal through travel zoo as I wouldn’t have wanted to pay the full price due to it needing a facelift .although it was very clean and the beds were so comfy.

Upon arrival, the staff was pleasant and helpful with our questions ; as we have come to expect from A Rodd hotel . Checkin was a breeze! However , our room package was to include a bottle of wine from the Magnetic Hill Winery , which is local to Moncton .. My wife and I are familar with and have visited this winery durning prior visits to Moncton .. When we inquired about the promotional bottle of wine. We were told that the only Red wine available to us was a bottle of Jackson-Triggs ( cabernet- merlot ) Not a favorite of ours .. but we did bring it home ...

Great location , with in walking distance to many dining establishments. Our room did have window leaking issue as Hurricane Dorian passed through the area Sept 7 /19 Not a fault of the Rodd .. However when I did bring this concern to their attention the Rodd team reacted quickly and efficiently, offering us another room , making sure that we were comfortable.. I declined the upgrade with great thanks I just wanted to let them know about the leak.. Great job guys !

Smooth check-in – large room with king bed, fridge, microwave, coffee maker. Fast wifi and lots large (55) Tv with lots of channels. Great location close to restaurants and less than a 1 minute walk to see the tidal bore come up the river and reverse the flow of the river – happens twice a day– don’t miss it – well worth seeing – also on the “boardwalk” along the river. Good breakfast. Outdoor pool – too cold to swim when we were there on July 1.

It took a little while to get booked in due to the fact that I didn't print out my confirmation so that was on me not the hotel but it was a great stay and I would go back.

Enjoyed our 4 night stay so close to the Tidal Bore. Danny, the Assistant Manager was particularly helpful. Needs a little updating but clean and efficiently run.
