About the itinerary
Day 1: ¡Bienvenido! Welcome to Madrid! You will be met upon arrival and transferred to your hotel, where you will meet your tour director and fellow travellers. The rest of the day is yours to explore as you please.
Day 2: Meet your guide and group before exploring Madrid's iconic sites, including Barrio de la Morería, Puerta del Sol, and the Royal Palace. Discover modern Madrid, then enjoy an authentic tapas dinner with fellow travellers.
Day 3: Your Iberian adventure begins with a drive through Castilla to Salamanca. First, explore Segovia's Roman aqueduct, then visit Avila’s impressive fortifications. Arrive in Salamanca, known for its historic university and architectural heritage.
Day 4: Today, you'll journey to Portugal, starting with Pinhão, known for port production and stunning vineyards. Next, explore Porto, where historic buildings, trams, and the Luís I Bridge line the Duoro River. Enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure.
Day 5: Today, enjoy a guided tour of Porto, visiting the hilltop Sé Cathedral, the old Stock Exchange, and the ornate Santa Clara Church.
Day 6: Depart Porto for Lisbon, stopping in Coimbra, the birthplace of fado music. Explore the historic centre, cathedral, and the University of Coimbra, witnessing student traditions and beautiful narrow streets. Then, continue to Lisbon, known for its decorative arts and charm. Enjoy the afternoon at leisure, with a recommendation to visit the Alfama Quarter and the Arco da Rua Augusta.
Day 7: After breakfast, enjoy a city tour of ancient Olissipo, exploring Lisbon's main squares and iconic sites like Belém Tower, Jerónimos Monastery, and the Coach Museum. Spend the afternoon at your leisure.
Day 8: Today, we bid farewell to Portugal, travelling to Seville via Mérida. Explore the city's rich heritage, showcasing Roman, Visigoth, Arab, and Christian influences, including the Augusta Emerita archaeological site. In the afternoon, continue to Seville, the heart of Andalucía and Spanish tradition.
Day 9: Explore Seville on a morning city tour, visiting the world's largest Gothic cathedral (exterior only). Discover the historic Barrio de Santa Cruz, then continue to María Luisa Park and Plaza de España. Spend the afternoon at leisure in this vibrant city.
Day 10: Depart Seville for Granada, stopping in Córdoba to explore its Jewish Quarter and the Mosque-Cathedral. Then, continue to Granada, nestled at the foot of the Sierra Nevada mountains.
Day 11: Today, explore the famous Alhambra and Generalife Gardens, requiring about three hours of walking—so wear comfortable shoes! This iconic complex reflects Granada's Arab history, featuring stunning palaces, gardens, and intricate details like exquisite carvings and geometric patterns. Originally built as a fortress by the Moors, it showcases their luxurious lifestyle. Enjoy the rest of the day free to explore Granada at your own pace, sampling delicious tapas at local bars.
Day 12: Today, bid farewell to Granada and head to Madrid, stopping in Toledo en route. Discover the Imperial City of Toledo on a guided tour, exploring its iconic Old Town, where Moors, Christians, and Jews have coexisted for centuries.
Day 13: This morning, depart for Madrid Airport and fly to Casablanca, Morocco. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel and enjoy leisure for the rest of the day.
Day 14: Embark on a morning tour of Casablanca, visiting Anfa Boulevard and Nation's Square, concluding at Hassan II Mosque, which can accommodate over 200,000 worshippers. In the afternoon, continue north along the coast to Morocco's capital, Rabat.
Day 15: This morning, explore Morocco's capital, visiting the Royal Palace, Mohammed V Mausoleum, and Hassan Tower. After lunch, head to Meknes to see Moulay Ismaïl Mausoleum and the monumental gates of Bab Khemis and Bab el Mansour, then continue to the historic city of Fes.
Day 16: Enjoy a full day touring Fes, the religious capital of Morocco, founded in the eighth century. Visit iconic sites like the Royal Palace, the Jewish Quarter, and a fortress with stunning views of Fez el Bali. Explore the Medina through the famous Bab Bou Jeloud Gate, where vibrant colours, market sounds, fresh produce, and fragrant spices create a sensory overload
Day 17: Leave the hustle of Fes for the tranquil Middle Atlas Mountains and the Sahara Desert. Pass through Ifrane, a charming mountain village known for skiing, before reaching Midelt, the region's capital, where you can enjoy the scenic surroundings. In the late afternoon, arrive in Erfoud, on the edge of the Sahara Desert.
Day 18: This morning, head to the grand oasis of Tinerhir and the stunning Todra Gorge, a dramatic trench rising over 250 meters. Tonight, stay overnight in Ouarzazate, known for filming movies like Lawrence of Arabia, Gladiator, Kingdom of Heaven, and parts of Game of Thrones.
Day 19: This morning, visit Kasbah Taourirt, once owned by Pacha Glaoui, then explore the fortified city of Aït Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Cross the High Atlas Mountains at Tizi n'Tichka, reaching 2,260 meters. Upon arrival in Marrakech, enjoy a guided city tour, starting at the Menara Gardens and the exterior of the Koutoubia minaret. Marvel at the Bahia Palace before reaching Jemaa el Fnaa square, a vibrant hub leading to the souks and Medina. Celebrate your journey with a farewell dinner with fellow travellers this evening.
Day 20: Today marks the end of your unforgettable tour. You will be transferred to Casablanca Airport for your departure flight.
