About the itinerary: 

Australia - Colombo - Galle - Yala National Park - Nuwara Eliya - Kandy - Minneriya National Park - Sigiriya - Polonnaruwa - Chilaw - Colombo – Australia

Starting in Colombo, you’ll head south toward Galle. Along the way, you’ll visit the Colombo National Museum to enjoy a fascinating insight into Sri Lanka’s history. Before reaching Galle, you’ll take a boat ride along the Madu River with its 64 scattered islands. Once in Galle, you’ll visit the UNESCO heritage site of Galle Fort. Next, you'll discover the spectacular wildlife in Yala National Park. Here you’ll spend the afternoon on a guided game drive and perhaps even spot one of Sri Lanka’s elusive leopards. The following day, after another morning safari, you’ll head to Nuwara Eliya, where you’ll spend the following two nights at the Grand Hotel. Built in 1891, this enduring icon teems with old-world romance and it is here that you will enjoy an iconic High Tea experience. From here, you’ll board the world-famous rail journey to Kandy, a breathtaking destination offering views of sweeping tea plantations and picturesque waterfalls. From here, you’ll head to Minneriya National Park, a paradise for nature lovers and the perfect place to observe elephants onboard your private jeep safari. On arrival in Sigiriya, you’ll have the chance to climb the Sigiriya Rock Fortress. This UNESCO World Heritage sight is famed around the world due to its extraordinary architecture. From here, you’ll make your way to the coastal town of Chilaw to relax and reflect on your Sri Lankan experience before heading back to Colombo to meet your flight back to Australia.
