About the cruise:
Your 17-night itinerary kicks off with a flight from Sydney to Singapore, where you'll spend the night and have the chance to explore all that the buzzing island nation has to offer—whether it's shopping on Orchard Road, a visit to the famous Gardens by the Bay or a stroll through the 164-year-old Singapore Botanic Gardens. On the evening of 24 August 2024, you'll board Carnival Splendor for an unforgettable cruise.
After a day of relaxing at sea, the Indonesian leg of the trip awaits. First, you'll arrive at Tanjung Priok, in north Jakarta, which has a fascinating history spanning back to the Dutch East Indies empire, and prior to that, its Hindu influence. You'll also be able to visit former President Barack Obama's elementary school, which he attended while growing up in Indonesia. After another day at sea, you'll dock at the island of Benoa in Bali—home to white sand beaches, sacred temples, active volcanoes and ancient rice paddies. You'll then cruise over to the neighbouring island of Lombok, where you'll encounter majestic mountains, pristine beaches and rich cultural traditions. 30 and 31 August 2024 will be spent at sea as you make your way towards the Australian coastline.
In Australia, your first stop will be Darwin, the laid-back capital of the Northern Territory, where you'll get to explore its thriving art galleries, interesting markets, and for the nature lovers, the Charles Darwin National Park. From here, you'll have three more days at sea as you head towards Queensland, before you touch down in Airlie Beach—the gateway to the Whitsunday Islands and the Great Barrier Reef. You'll be treated to the world-famous white sands of Whitehaven Beach, high-speed catamaran joy rides, and glass-bottom boat day tours on the turquoise waters of the Coral Sea. 6 September 2024 will be spent on the water as you cruise to your next stop: the exquisite Tangalooma, located on Moreton Island, approximately 40 kilometres off the Brisbane coast. Here, you can snorkel the shipwrecks, hand-feed the wild dolphins, go whale watching or take a desert safari. Sit back and enjoy your final day on board Carnival Splendor before you disembark at your final stop, Sydney: one of the world's great cities and harbours.
