The 168-acre resort is spread out along the coast, 15 minutes’ drive from Albufeira -- a "highly picturesque" coastal town with a "beautiful spread of beaches", says Rough Guides. It’s fairly remote, but with lots of activities and seven different dining options available on site, there’s almost no need to venture out.
The resort has an enormous children’s village -- complete with two full-size wooden pirate ships in the adventure playground, an 18-hole mini golf course and a kids’ club (open April-October, advance bookings advised) -- and a number of pools. There’s plenty for adults too, from a 9-hole golf course with a tricky championship tee to a cliff-top Champagne bar (open April-September). Guests can also make use of the fitness center and indoor pool (swimming caps are required).
Each Golf suite has a kitchen, living and dining space, two or three bedrooms (sleeping a maximum of five or seven people) and two separate bathrooms. Interiors are chic and cozy, with French doors lead out onto paved terraces or balconies overlooking the grounds.
For a more secluded stay within the resort, upgrade to a 2- or 3-bedroom Townhouse with more space, a flat-screen TV and a fireplace. They are up to 15 minutes’ walk from the main restaurants but a mini train provides regular free in-resort transfers during high season.
