The cleaning staff was very friendly and held the door for us when we were leaving with our bags.

Arrived for check in at 2:40 and were immediately told check in was not until 4 but she would check to see if our room was available and it was. Not friendly at all. Very cool reception. Room was very tired. All yellow. Carpet old and well worn. Told the inn that we were celebrating our 36 wedding anniversary and not a word was mentioned at check in. The tone was set at check in by the lady at the front desk. Would not recommend a stay at The Glenerin Inn.

The space is BEAUTIFUL, and the front desk staff were exceptionally good. Also nice and clean, and the bed was comfy.

The food was truly mediocre and they charged extra for every little thing - including the bread basket full of microwaved bread, and tea with dessert for the three course meal. Soup and salad were pathetic, pasta my husband had was, in his words, kind of sad, my trout was ok but not brilliant, and dessert was also ok but not great. During dinner we asked if they usually had music and they tried their best, but we ended up with a radio station with lots of ads. Not what we expected for such a lovely dining room. At least he let us pick the genre! Breakfast was equally sad - rubbery scrambled eggs, soggy home fries, soggy bacon swimming in grease, etc. Other patrons around us were noting the same. Thankfully they did have nice fresh OJ and a good fruit platter. The whole kitchen needs to be reworked. Compared to other similar Inns in Ontario it is kind of a disgrace.

We like the quaint, rustic feel of the place. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. It's quiet. Great location; quick, easy access to downtown Toronto on the Go Train. Great place to relax on the patio in the summer and enjoy the hiking trails.

I have been going to the Glenerin Inn for many years. Prior to this, my last visit was about one year ago. At check in, neither employee was welcoming, nor did they make eye contact. They were reluctant to honour the quoted Travelzoo room rate, and told me in was only good Monday through Thursday. After some persuading they changed their minds. The rooms are quaint, but are tired looking, and in need of updating. The food was okay to good, but not worth the advertised prices. The wait staff were very pleasant and accommodating. There was a large Function in the main dining room, so regular guests were required to dine in a smaller room, which was okay. A problem surfaced about halfway through our meal when the wedding guests began using a photo taking machine, which was situated 10 or 15 feet from our table. The resulting Hilarity and noise spoiled our evening, and we left as soon as we could. I got the feeling that to the Hotel, Travelzoo guests are second class citizens. Had a similar experience last year when we were given a room right next to the bar area...... when a wedding was in progress !!! Luckily my request to be moved to another room was granted. I won't be returning to The Glenerin Inn, as there are many other Hotels with far friendlier staff, who seem to appreciate my business. Example, the Parlour Inn in Stratford. Regards, Paul Irvine.

Yes. I’m sure the other rooms are lovely and I’m disappointed mine was so small and unpleasant.
