Many of Paris's historic sights are within easy reach of Hotel George Washington, which occupies a prime city-centre location in the upmarket 8th arrondissement.
This classic hotel is housed in an elegant townhouse-style property lined with wrought iron balconies, and is set on a cobbled side street between the high-end shops of leafy Boulevard Haussmann and the iconic Avenue des Champs-Élysées -- "the most famous avenue in Paris – and, perhaps the world" (Fodor's).
Both the Arc de Triomphe and George V, the nearest metro station which links directly to bustling hub Place de la Concorde and the elegant Tuileries Gardens, are about a 5-minute walk away, while the Eiffel Tower takes about 30 minutes to reach on foot. The Louvre art museum is a 15-minute drive away and Montmartre, Paris' renowned artists' quarter with its "lofty views, wine-producing vines and hidden village squares" (Lonely Planet) is 20 minutes' drive from the hotel.
Guestrooms are decorated in a traditional style with patterned fabrics and wallpapers. Wi-Fi is free.
