Ruby Sofie Hotel Vienna is a boutique design hotel in the centre of Austria's capital. Taking inspiration from Vienna's reputation as the City of Music, the hotel has Marshall amps in all bedrooms, guitars that you can borrow for free from the front desk and Ruby Radio -- it's very own station.
The property is within walking distance of some of Vienna's most famous sights, including the iconic St Stephen's Cathedral, 20 minutes' walk away, and the State Opera House, less than 30 minutes' walk away. The Museumsquartier -- 60,000 square metres of Baroque buildings, art museums and exhibition space -- is 40 minutes' walk from the hotel or five minutes by train from Wien Mitte-Landstrasse subway station (less than 10 minutes' walk from the hotel).
For recommendations of shops, museums, restaurants and other attractions, in-room tablets have a city guide. You can also hire bicycles from the hotel (8€ per day).
Ruby Sofie Bar & Café is open 24 hours a day for guests and serves light bites and drinks. You can also head to the galley kitchen for free hot drinks and there's a vending machine that stocks handy items such as umbrellas, toothpaste and gum.
The 2nd-floor Library has comfortable seating and tables, plus superfast Wi-Fi and iMacs. Those looking for a health kick should head to the Yoga and Meditation Room on the 5th floor (free for guests). Mats are provided and there's a Yoga Terrace (weather dependant). There's also a gym on the ground floor with a studio and a sauna -- hotel guests can get a discounted day ticket for 18€.
Rooms are decorated in a minimalist style, with vintage furniture, oak-wood floors and cherry-wood wall panelling. Lovely Rooms are more spacious than Cosy Rooms and have larger beds. Wi-Fi is free.
