The Duniway Hilton Portland, a boutique property that's popular with both business and leisure travelers, sits two blocks from Pioneer Square in the heart of downtown Portland. Fresh off a multimillion-dollar renovation early in 2017, this Hilton was renamed after Abigail Scott Duniway, Oregon’s most famous suffragette.

The hotel has 327 rooms and suites, all redesigned this year to reflect the city’s industrial past and featuring a curated selection of books from a local bookstore. Accommodations include Waldorf Astoria beds topped with 500-thread-count linens, 65-inch flat-screen TVs, minifridges and coffee makers paired with local upscale coffee ready to brew. Guests have the choice of one king bed or two queens in deluxe rooms or top-floor city views from upgraded premier rooms located on the 20th floor of the hotel. All rooms include bathrobes, slippers and umbrellas to fend off the Pacific Northwest’s notoriously wet weather.

In March 2017, the hotel opened a new restaurant, Jackrabbit, in the lobby, headed by chef Chris Cosentino, the winner of "Top Chef Masters" in 2012. The restaurant is open for three meals a day and brunch on weekends while its adjacent bar serves specialty cocktails, wine and beer. Early risers can grab coffee and meals to go from the lobby coffee bar, and in-room dining is available late into the night.

From the hotel, guests are within a five-minute walk of the nearest light rail station, Portland Center for the Performing Arts and the Portland Art Museum.

Rooms, although a little small, were nice. Location downtown was convenient.

When I called to ask for a room, I was told they would block one out for me so that we could see Pioneer Square. When we arrived about an hour before check in (4PM), I was told the room wasn't quite ready, so we waited. It still wasn't ready after 2 hours, so we were moved to the top floor with a view on the opposite side. The next day, we asked if we could move back to the other side so that we can get the view we asked for, I again was told yes, and that the room was blocked for us. She even showed us which room it was on the map and the view type. She informed us we would get a text or call to let us know when it was ready. We never received either, and when I went in around 5pm to check, I was informed the room was not blocked anymore and that someone else was in it. So, we had to stay in our current room, without the view that we had asked for 2 days prior. I still don't know why our room wasn't available the 1st night and the follow up from the staff for the 2nd night didn't happen. We did get a voucher for dinner that expired the next day. Since we already had plans set up for dinner, we went the next night. We were not informed that there was a private party happening the next night, so the dining wasn't open. We had to sit in the lobby area to be served any dinner. Not the best service that I would expect to happen with Hilton.

Very modern and very Portland! Perfect location, too. There is a Starbucks up the street and many restaurants to choose from.

The parking is a little pricey, but that's okay. The breakfast was really good!

The room was lovely and the lobby / bar / restaurant good enough to visit even if we were not staying there, but the standout feature of the hotel is the incredible Mr John Conway. John is the concierge and it seemed that no task was too big or too small for him. Particularly, he made us feel like whatever it was we were trying to figure out was important to him. I can't praise him highly enough.

Seriously - use John if you have any questions - anything at all.

We would love to return again, but doubt we’d ever get such a great price. It truly was a wonderful experience for us all. Thank you so much for the opportunity to stay in such a luxury hotel at such a great price. Excellent all the way around. Warm Regards from Nancy Bird-Clark and party of three.

The staff was wonderful! John at the concierge desk was the best!! He guided us with use of the MAX rail and even bought us a ticket to the airport. This was our first time in Portland, for me and my six year daughter, and what a great city with lovely, lovely people.
