Located on Cornell’s campus, the Statler is a teaching hotel for the university’s School of Hotel Administration, staffed almost entirely by students of the Ivy League college. The AAA 4-Diamond hotel is popular with parents and returning alumni, offering a homey atmosphere adjacent to Nestle Library and less than a block from Rockwell Azalea Garden.
Rooms and suites include free Wi-Fi, refrigerators, Keurig coffeemakers, desk and seating areas overlooking the campus grounds. Guests can upgrade to accommodations with views of Cornell’s McGraw Tower and Cayuga Lake. Suites include marble bathrooms and bedrooms separated by frosted French doors from living spaces with dining tables and couches.
Guests have around-the-clock access to the on-site gym or can work up a sweat at the college’s tennis courts, golf course, rock climbing wall and swimming pools. Come mealtime, the property’s four restaurants offer the option of pan-Asian specialties, a casual café, a modern cocktail lounge and Taverna Banfi, an OpenTable Diners' Choice winner and one of Ithaca's most popular restaurants.
The hotel is within a mile of Dairy Bar, serving ice cream flavors developed by the Agricultural School and the manicured grounds of Cornell Orchards and Cornell Plantations. Finger Lakes Wine Country is home to over 100 wineries and begins less than five miles from the property. Visitors can hike to the nearby Fall Creek Gorge and Taughannack Falls.
