A winding tree-lined drive leads up to grand Bartley Lodge Hotel, set in eight acres of secluded grounds on the edge of the New Forest. Housed in a redbrick, ivy-clad country house dating from the 18thcentury, this classic hotel is within a 10-minute drive of both Bramshaw Golf Club and flower-filled Furzey Gardens, and a 15-minute drive from New Forest Centre, with its museum of local history.
Wood-panelled walls and antique-style furniture adorn Bartley Lodge Hotel’s stately, split-level lounge, dotted with plush sofas and armchairs. Guests can dine in the elegant restaurant, which extends to a conservatory and terrace area, sip drinks in the cosy bar and unwind in the indoor pool, decorated with classical-inspired statues. The hotel’s landscaped gardens are edged with colourful flowerbeds.
Refined, neutral-toned rooms include free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs, and tea- and coffee-making facilities. Some add country-inspired accents or bold wallpapers, while upgraded rooms come with 4-poster beds and sitting areas. Family rooms with bunk beds or sofabeds are also available.
