Set in a sleek modern building on Manchester's First Street development, this multi-storey hotel is just a short walk from both Deansgate and Manchester Oxford Road railway stations. It's next door to the equally modern glass-fronted HOME building, which is one of the development's key draws. It includes a contemporary art gallery, a 5-screen cinema, two theatres, a restaurant and a bar.
Bridgewater Hall and the Manchester Central Convention Complex are both a short walk from the hotel. The Manchester Arndale, one of the UK's largest shopping centres and home to around 200 stores, plus a range of popular eateries, is around a mile from the hotel.
There are a number of bars and restaurants within easy reach of the hotel, including the canal-side comedy club and the lively bars at the Deansgate Locks, which are around 350 metres away. Closer to home, Street on First is the hotel's light and spacious restaurant. In keeping with the building's contemporary style, it has a minimalist look -- think plenty of bright white, clean lines and simple table settings. It serves an eclectic menu of internationally inspired dishes and sharing plates, plus a menu of classic cocktails with creative twists.
The air-conditioned rooms and suites have free Wi-Fi and are decorated with a calming colour scheme of white, soft grey tones and purple. They have mini fridges with complimentary soft drinks and water. Upgraded Lifestyle suites are on the highest floors and have far-reaching city views from their floor-to-ceiling windows. Leisure facilities at the hotel include a wellness suite with state-of-the-art fitness equipment, a sauna and a steam room.
