Cornwall is popular throughout the year, due to its "mild climate, breathtaking scenery and long stretches of sandy beach" (Condé Nast Traveller), and its Atlantic coast is dotted with some of the UK's most beautiful coves and bays.

The Gannet Inn is in the village of Carbis Bay on the North Cornwall coast. The country-style property opened in 2015 and has "unique interiors with all the style and finesse of a boutique hotel", according to The AA.

The art galleries and winding cobbled streets of St Ives are five minutes' drive away, while the hotel's sister property, Carbis Bay Hotel, is 15 minutes' walk away -- guests at The Gannet Inn can head there to use the hotel's spa facilities, outdoor pool and Blue Flag beach.

The Gannet Inn has a restaurant that serves classic British dishes, burgers and pasta, and a bar with a dartboard and a pool table. There is also a lounge with a fireplace and leather armchairs. Breakfast is served daily from 7:30-10am.

"Stylish, high-standard" (The AA) bedrooms are individually designed and soundproof, and feature neutral décor and bespoke furniture. Wi-Fi is free.

Other Comments
Lounge and dining room open to the public. Noise from children running around the lounges and shouting. Also during mealtime after 8pm Very young, tired toddlers crying. Not what you expect from a hotel with usual prices if around £200+ per night. Is it a chic boutique hotel or a harvester? Also our Wagtail room was directly above entrance hall and busy stair, yet the door hadn't been sound insulated. Premier inn manage it. At 6am in the morning you could hear and feel the vibration of a door continuously being allowed to slam shut. We were asked if we wanted to open a tab for our room to enable us to order drinks and such like. £50 was taken from our credit card. The following day we settled our bill but were told the £50 would not be credited to our account for up to a week? Totally wrong.
