Ufford Park is set in 120 acres of parkland near Woodbridge, a historic riverside town on the edge of the Suffolk Coast & Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Head to Woodbridge's high street for artisanal cafés, independent shops and cosy gastropubs. The town is also known for its tide mill, which was the last of its kind operating in England until it stopped turning in 1957. There's been a mill on this site since the 12th century, and although it's closed in winter, it's definitely worth admiring on a riverside stroll. Buttrum's Windmill -- a Grade II-listed 6-storey mill -- is also in the town.

Snape Maltings, on the banks of the River Alde, is less than 20 minutes away by car. It comprises of a collection of Victorian granaries and malthouses housing boutique shops, galleries, restaurants, a tea shop and a concert hall.

The Suffolk Coast & Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, an ancient heathland intersected by waterways, is a haven for rare birds such as the woodlark and the nightjar, as well as other unusual species like silver-studded blue butterflies and natterjack toads. RSPB Minsmere is around a 30-minute drive away and allows ample opportunity to see a selection of rare wildlife.

The hotel's leisure facilities include an indoor pool, a spa bath, a sauna, a steam room and a fitness suite. The golf course has a 2-storey floodlit driving range that is open year-round (leisure and golf facilities must be pre-booked). The Park Restaurant serves a set menu, and the bar has scenic views across the golf course.

Wi-Fi is free. Dogs can stay in Classic Rooms for an extra £15 per dog, per night (please use the special requests field on booking).

We have also negotiated an all-day spa experience, including lunch and a drink, for £29 per person.

The grounds were lovely. We had 2nights, the rooms were very comfortable and had a great view of the golf course. Meals and service were excellent.

The hotel location was as we expected 10 out of 10 as was the hotel , the staff also did every think posable to make our stay enjoyable. Unfortunately our stay was not as expected as we had to be relocated into a ground floor room with no view whatsoever “ a wall in fact “ rather than as expected a room on the first floor with balcony this was due to my inability to climb stairs because the lift had been out of operation for two weeks . This was a serious blow to us as I had called the hotel a couple of weeks beforehand to confirm before I booked it had a lift as I only book hotel with that facility. This could and should have been avoided by the hotel contacting all booking And stating the lift was NOT working .

Only bug bear is the TVs being keylocked. So we couldn't watch our own movies on USB stick as we could not change the AV channel on the side of TV and the lg remote are swapped for a basic hotel universal remote with no menu access

the hotel was fairly clean, but the carpet in our room had several stains. I was worried about eating there after reading some critical reviews, but enjoyed dinner on both nights of our stay. The staff were efficient and helpful. The incessant background jazz music may appeal to some people but more varieties are needed, perhaps some classical or easy listening music

The grounds men cutting the greens before seven am was an early morning call I could have done without.
