Why We Love This Hotel

  • On-site Cabin, Babbo and Restaurant 85 focus on fresh, local fare; wine is served from the resort’s own vineyard
  • An 8,000-square-foot spa overlooks the region's rolling hills
  • The cart-mandatory, scenic 18-hole golf course was designed by renowned golf architect Thomas McBroom

Overview

Amid 300 acres of pristine landscape, this all-season resort is full of amenities yet still retains an intimate feel; the signature restaurant Cabin is named after the first structure built on the property in 1865. Various room types are available, including the recently renovated Premier Resort Rooms and two-level Executive Suites, with a sleeping area on the upper level and a spacious lower-level living area with gas fireplace. A large number of rooms include balconies with views of the valley and the golf course, which was designed by Canadian course architect Thomas McBroom.

During summer months, the resort’s two-acre garden provides fresh ingredients for on-site restaurants. At Cabin, guests can share dishes of warm olives and almonds and enjoy seasonally-inspired entrees. Babbo, the lively lounge and bar located in the hotel’s lobby, has an extensive wine list featuring Ontario whites from Niagara, Prince Edward County and the resort’s own vineyard, Adamo Estate Winery.

Not to be overlooked is the 15-trail ski and snowboard resort with expanded terrain park, open day and night during the winter season. Guests will also find many cross-country ski and snowshoeing trails. In any season, the hotel’s 8,000-square-foot spa, fitness club, hot tub and indoor pool are sure to be appreciated.

Enjoyed snowshoeing.

Check-in process was a complete disaster. No rooms available until well after check-in time. No restaurants available for dinner, no other options. Management had no clue what they were doing. Lobby was full of disgruntled guests. It was a chaotic, unorganized mess for a place that calls themselves a "resort".

The surroundings are beautiful. Great hikes since Bruce trail is so close. The new Manager did listen to our complaints and said that we would get an email offering us some discounts for future use; however we have not yet received it.
Other Comments
This is a very poorly run operation. Staff has no knowledge of the surrounding recreation facilities, even though the resort promotes it. Gave us wrong information about wine tasting. Bathtub does not drain well and the comment card by the previous occupant of our room mentioned it, but the comment card was still sitting in the room! Food selection was poor. No vegetarian options. In all, a very poorly managed resort.

Wait staff at Canoe was excellent... breakfast in the morning - hot items needed replenishing and took 10 min to get a coffee and they were not busy.

Hidden Gem close to home!! Hockley Valley has it all. Our entire experience was awesome. Great staff, charming Inn with clean rooms. We had a lovely view of the 18th hole and pond. Their breakfast buffet was the best we’ve ever had. They even grow their own fruits and veggies in their onsite gardens. Loved their apple yogurt and apple compote!! Oh and their own winery and vineyards - Adamo Estate Winery. Best wine tasting experience we’ve had anywhere!! Can’t wait to go back. Love this resort.
