Cheadle House is a Victorian property in Cheshire. And with both Manchester city centre and the Peak District National Park accessible within half an hours' drive, you could go for a cosmopolitan or a countryside getaway.
If walking or shopping don't tickle your fancy visit the Hat Works Museum, which houses over 400 hats from all over the world and is the UK's only museum dedicated to the hatting industry, or experience life in wartime Britain in the 1940s at Stockport Air Raid Shelters -- both are about 10 minutes' drive from the hotel. Tatton Park is a 30-minute drive away and has grounds that feature a maze, a walled kitchen garden and a Japanese garden. You can also look around the 18th-century mansion and see how both the elite and servants lived.
Science enthusiasts should check out the Jodrell Bank Discovery Centre, where you can learn about the universe and the giant Lovell Telescope. It is 25 minutes' drive from the hotel.
Bedrooms at Cheadle House are modern and furnished in neutral tones, and all have free Wi-Fi. You can eat in either the Alderley Bar & Restaurant or the bar, and there's a children's menu, designed to give them at least one of their five a day.
