"We booked our trip to the Ingleside Inn based on the photos of the relatively recent renovation and the history of the place, and we were not disappointed. This is a beautiful little boutique hotel! We stayed for two nights mid-week, mostly enjoying time by the pool, and it was a perfect, quiet oasis. We saw no children, which suited us fine, and only a handful of other couples. There was drink/food service by the pool starting at 11:30am, and Dan, the waiter/pool attendant was as helpful as could be with taking orders, delivering food, moving umbrellas, and even telling stories about the hotel and who from old Hollywood used to stay there. We were well taken care of and would definitely return."

Overview

Built as a private estate, the two-acre Ingleside Inn became a 30-room hotel in 1935 and was run like a private club with the reputation of luxury accommodations for affluent guests. Writers and artists found inspiration in the beautiful Palm Springs setting and worked on masterpieces at the peaceful inn. Salvador Dali and novelist Harold Bell Wright crafted their skills on site, and Hollywood royalty like Greta Garbo and Clark Gable frequented the hotel.

Today, the Spanish-style inn is still a hot spot for carousing. During Coachella, DJs send waves of music over the pool filled with celebrities and partygoers from around the world.

Each guest room and suite is uniquely decorated and all include a fireplace -- hence the name “Ingleside.” Guests are welcomed with platters of fruit, cheese, crackers and cookies at check-in and modern necessities like Wi-Fi and parking are included in room rates.

The property’s restaurant, Melvyn’s, was the site of Frank and Barbara Sinatra’s wedding rehearsal and serves seafood under crystal chandeliers. After dinner, the Casablanca Lounge offers live entertainment and dancing into the early morning hours.

Quaint, charming little boutique hotel with an "old-time" feel. Good location at base of mountains on edge of downtown Palm Springs with many shops and restaurants easily within walking distance. I ordered food and drink poolside as well as room service and both times everything was delicious. Friendly, accommodating staff. I will be back!

We had a wonderful time staying at The Ingleside Inn. Lazing by the pool, Martini's in the lounge and dinner at Melvyn's rounded out a stellar stay. The staff was top notch and the room was lovely... cannot recommend them enough.

We arrived very early and Kim and Tim took great care of us. Allowed us to use the pool until our room was ready. We did notice a musty smell in the room so they upgraded us promptly, which was so kind. The grounds are very private but walking distance to downtown. The grounds were very well kept. We enjoyed the pool very much. Clean and nice chairs/hammock. The suite was spacious and charming. We had a wonderful time.

Great friendly professional staff. Older hotel that’s been upgraded without losing charm. Great location. Recommend it!!

The original room we were placed in was a simple king bed, but the A/C wasn't working at full capacity, so they upgraded us to a suite. The suite was amazing! The extra room was great and we got to enjoy a private patio area. Would definitely stay here again, especially since it's off the beaten path of the PS strip, close enough to walk everywhere but far enough away to stay quiet.

Great Boutique Hotel. My wife and I went there for a 23rd anniversary and had a great time. Rooms were decent-sized with an old school Hollywood throwback. Pool was nice and Gregory the post site attendant was great.
